The Great Zambia Lodge Safari is a 12 nights / 13 days fully accommodated safari to Kafue, Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa. We take bookings for a minimum of 2 guests and a maximum of 5 guests at the time. For details of the safari please refer to the itinerary section below.


Arrival in Lusaka

You will be met and welcomed by the driver from Lusaka’s “Kenneth Kaunda” International Airport. From here it is a short drive to hotel where you are booked for the first night. If likely you will do a little sightseeing in Lusaka depending on your time of arrival. DAY 2-4

Central Kafue

After early morning breakfast you check out and have the driver pick you and leave for the Kafue National Park.You will go on a sunset cruise on the Kafue River to get a first impression of the area. You will be accommodated at the Luxury En-suite Safari Tents at Ila Safari Lodge (FB+).


Lower Zambezi

Day 5 – After breakfast we will check out and drive towards the Zambezi Valley. Your destination is Kiambi Lodge, near the confluence of the Kafue and Zambezi River. lunch at Mug & Bean in Lusaka. That’s where the driver from Kiambi Lodge is awaiting you. Accommodation: Luxury tented en-suite chalets (FB) .


Lower Zambezi Canoe Excursion

After a good night’s sleep you will start the canoe excursion. Breakfast is at 07:30am and then you meet your canoeing guide. Your canoe guide will then give you a briefing about the canoeing. Departure is from the jetty to the Canoe start point. A stop is made for tea time, which is set up by the backup boat. You stop for lunch, which is set up in the backup boat. We continue downriver after lunch. The backup boat goes on ahead to set up the campsite. In the late afternoon you stop at the campsite at Buffalo Beans Island. Distance: 20km


Lower Zambezi Canoe Excursion

After Breakfast you depart again on canoe downriver. The backup boat follows close behind. You stop to visit a local village on the banks of the Zambezi. Here you can visit the school, the shops and view the local way of life. A stop is made again for tea, set up by the backup boat. Stop for lunch, set up by the backup boat and continue downriver after lunch. Arrive at the campsite, already set up by the backup boat and overnight as above. Distance: 20km



Breakfast and transfer by motorboat back to Kiambi Lodge. You will have your lunch at Kiambi Lodge before you drive back to Lusaka. Here you will stay at Latitude 15° for a night again.


South Luangwa

Breakfast than you will check out and the driver from Latitude 15° will take you to your flight with Proflight from Lusaka to Mfuwe at around midday. The pick-up is arranged with Flatdogs Camp. After checking in and a bit of time to relax you will go out on your first game drive in South Luangwa. Accommodation in Twin/Double Chalets at Flatdogs Camp.

DAY 10-12

South Luangwa

The following 3 days are reserved for the big game experience. You will explore the South Luangwa NP on morning and afternoon/night game drives. If possible you can do a walking safari as well. The Luangwa Valley is one of the great wilderness areas in Africa, where predator sightings (incl. Leopard and Wild dogs) are very common.

DAY 13

Departure from South Luangwa

After your breakfast you will pack up and check out from Flatdogs Camp. You will be taken to the Mfuwe International Airport in time for your flight to Lusaka where you connect to the flight back home or any other destination of your choice.
